Puckoff vodka was going to be a novelty, a play on words. Then, after a few weeks of clowning around looking for a cheap way to make a few hundred bottles as a goof, I just legitimised it…got a US trademark, dot-com domain, and created a nom de guerre: Peter Puckoff.
Why Peter?
An homage to the most famous puck ever:
Peter Puck!
Why Puckoff?
He has a keen interest in the Russian heritage: Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, the Bolshoi ballet, HOCKEY, and vodka (ya think).
He claims (unverified) to be the Herb Brooks of the USSR’s 1960 Olympic hockey team- that means he was the last man cut from the squad and missed a trip to Squaw Valley and a silver medal. He also claims to be related to Nikolai Puchkov (pronounced Puckoff?), USSR’s goalie that Olympiad.
